Next Door

I woke before 2 am to police and ambulance at our neighbor's home.  By 4 our yard and street were taped off with crime tape.  It's common here to see police or ambulances, but crime tape?  That was new.  That means something bad has happened.  (We actually live in a relatively safe area).  Mark was interviewed but apparently the news didn't like what he said so they used our other neighbor instead.  The neighbors involved have always been kind to us and we've enjoyed them.  Our hearts ache that a reactive decision will hurt them and their family.

Without You

Here's Shoni's (my sister) last school video.  She's getting married and moving to Texas.  I tried to upload it but couldn't figure it out...so here's the website:

Watermelon Dresser

I bought a cheap, old, ugly dresser when I was pregnant with Megan.  It was plywood with a laminate covering.  The laminate was peeling and it was ugly.  I always wanted to repaint it but could never decide how to do it.  I couldn't sand it because of the plywood.  I recently read a blog about someone who never sands her wood.  She just spray paints everything!  So that is what I did.  Spray paint smells something fierce, even when it's outside, so I don't think I'll use spray paint again.

So here is the end result:

See where the laminate peeled?
I had to hand paint the hardware because they were stuck in there!  That took forever.  Still pretty though.  I'm thinking the room needs some turquoise to go with this watermelon color and grey zigzag curtains.

I found a blog: cutegirlshairstyles.com - I figure since I have three I should start doing their hair cute.

Kylee has fat legs - with a roll that stays there even when her leg is straight!  Awesome.

Ninety And Nine

I grew up listening and loving Michael McLean music.  For Christmas Mark bought me a cd with my old school favorites to listen to in the car with the girls.  They pick up lyrics very quickly and we wanted them to sing uplifting songs.  I found this beauty on youtube and loved it.

Mark bought me another cd for Mothers Day with this song.  I like it because I'm one of the 99 like so many others.  We often focus on  the one not among us, while sometimes, the ones who need the most love and attention are in front of us.

That brings me to another tangent.  Love and attention.  I made that up when I was teaching school.  I realized that from kids to adults, all a person needs is love and attention.  Each individual needs to feel loved and valued.  People rise and are lifted as they receive "love and attention."  So here's to the ninety and nine.
