Incredible Kid

Kendra's school has "incredible kid day" every year.  Parents or other are to write a letter to their child telling them how incredible they are.  Here is the letter Mark and I wrote to Kendra.

Here’s to our incredible daughter

What makes you so incredible Keni Lyn?  To begin with you are our first little girl.  We were so excited to have you.  You were such a fun, hilarious little baby.  You loved to laugh and make us laugh…you still do!  That is one thing we love about you – your happy little spirit and the joy you bring into our home.  You have always been able to make Megan laugh much harder than anyone else.  You are such a good sister to her and to Kylee.  They both look up to you and love you so much.  That is another thing that makes you incredible.  You are a good example to your two younger sisters.  They will always watch your example and will want to be like you.  We are so proud of you for making good decisions and choosing the right.  You are not only a good example to your sisters but also to your friends.  We hope you will always be an influence for good as you continue to grow.

As a baby you were very obedient.  That has carried on with you in your school age years.  You still want to do what is right and to please your parents, teachers, and those around you.  Obedience is a gift you were born with.  We are so grateful for your obedience and know your Heavenly Father is happy with you too.

Last year and into this year you struggled with anxiety.  It was hard to keep so much fear inside your body.  You were willing to go to Miss Nicole and as you learned to express yourself more the fear was able to leave.  We are so happy that you are willing to talk to us and tell us things that you do, even if you know you might get in trouble.  That is incredible!  We love that you are honest.  We love that you tell us about your day at school, your friends, and what you like to do.

We know you like monster high.  But because we don’t like monster high we haven’t allowed you to buy any dolls or print out their pictures.  Even though you love it you have been so good to listen to us and respect our desires.  That makes you incredible!  What an amazing 1st grader you are that you would honor your mom and dad and their wishes.  You are incredible in the way you listen to your mom and dad.

We have never been good at using your chore chart.  One reason is because you are so good to do things when asked.  Whenever we need help, or need you to do something you are always willing to do it.  How incredible is that!?!  What six year old doesn’t need a chore chart because she does chores when asked?  Kendra!  Thank you for always being willing to do the trash, put your clothes away, help Megan put her clothes away, collect chicken eggs, clean toilets, pull weeds, sweep the floor, do dishes, and the list could go on and on.  You are such a wonderful helper and chore doer.

Well Keni Lyn we are so happy to have you in our home.  You bring energy, fun, laughter, joy, and tenderness.  We love you.  You are our precious.

Love,

Mom & Dad

The Last Week

I think Mark will cut his hair now...

The finished result:

Our little 3 month old

Megan loves it when sissy comes home from school.  Kendra is reading her homework to her.

The girls love to print pictures out.  They then color and cut them.  These are played with in the place of dolls.  I thought if I laminated them they wouldn't want to print any more out.  I'm running out of printer paper, not to mention ink!  But they just love it...so I let them.
