In July the girls saw our pediatrician for their yearly check-up. It was then that our pediatrician informed me that Kendra had gained weight but hadn't grown in the past year. What? We are to see her in January to see if Kendra grows in the next 6 months.
At first I thought nothing of it, but now her height, or lack thereof, is blatantly obvious. A year ago I bought school clothes for her for winter - thinking she'd be wearing a 5/6. All of the clothes are too large. Tonight for bed she picked out pajamas that she wore last fall - and they fit. The pants fit, the shirt fit, just like they did last year.
When we went to Disneyland in May Kendra was 42 inches tall. We just measured her a couple of nights ago and she's 42 inches tall. How is it that a child stops growing? I now want answers and if it means that she needs a shot for her pituitary gland to work so be it. Growth hormones? Why not. A disorder that nothing can be done? Sure. I want to take her back in and say yep, let's do all the blood work and get an answer and move on.
