Rain

Wow.  The rain.  I mean...WOW!  I feel like I live in the Pacific Northwest.  Albuquerque had 3.35" of rain in the past few days which is a third of the annual amount!

Here is a video from a neighboring town:

Here are some pictures from our arroyo.  I have NEVER seen so much water!  Apparently not many people have because tons of people were stopping on the main road to take pictures and videos.

I dislocated a rib...it's a long story, but basically I'm a fun mom who was throwing my four year old up and when she came down she kicked me in the ribs.  *Pop*  It made me so happy to have my mom come down and friends who helped me through this.  I'm still seeing a chiropractor, but I'm much better.

Pollywogs

How do people not know what pollywogs are?  They call them tadpoles 'round here.

We had a river in our arroyo after a good rain storm.  It left a pond and frogs could be heard croaking for a few nights.  Now we have pollywogs.

 I love how Megan poses
Mark caught one and brought it home.  The girls call him 'taddy'.

Another cute hairstyle:

Our camera is on it's last leg.  See the black in the picture?  Sometimes pics don't turn out...they're just black.  It has been dropped one too many times.

Back To School

Last January when Kylee was born I told myself all I had to do was get through the next four months until summer.  Surely by August, at six months of age, Kylee would be sleeping well and I'd be ready to get up and get Kendra going for school.  My expectations were way too high!

Megan wanted a turn:

 Bye baby Kylee!

Kendra's note in her lunch:

2nd day of school...look at that cute hair!  I should scan some photos from my school years...then you'd understand why I like Kendra's hair to be so cute!

More Texas

Fun shops on the island

U.S.S. Lexington
There's a ship in the background bringing in oil up the bay to the refineries.

Every wonder how they get the google maps?

Dresser

Sometimes I just get itchin' to do something creative.

Oh you poor old ugly dresser, what shall I do with you? (This pic was taken from craigslist)

I had grand plans for you dresser; but you ended up a simple blue with sand colored handles:

So pretty.

Padre Island

We first headed to Schlitterbahns, the ultimate waterpark in San Antonio.  That place is HOT!

Initially we got life vests for both girls so Kendra would be safe on the rides, but then she didn't want to go on any.  This place will be more fun when our kids are older.  We saw our neighbor's son there who just moved to Texas with his mom.  What are the odds.

Padre Island; my new favorite beach.  The weather is perfect, the water is warm and shallow, the sand is fine and soft, and it's in Texas.

 We found a dead fish!

This is how we park at a Texas beach.

And another day at the beach:

Mark and I together for 5 minutes without kids!

Thanks Aunt Shoni and Uncle Robb for playing with the girlies.

I have a new favorite beach and it's padre island!
