Best State In The Union!

I love Texas.

 

On the way down we hit numerous patches of storms.  At this one spot there was a break in the clouds.  It looked so cool with dark low-lying clouds, white puffy clouds, and beautiful blue sky.

 

People from Texas probably have the most state pride out of any state.  I love it.  One woman from Idaho asked why anyone would live in Texas where it is hot and humid.  To that a man replied, "best state in the union!"  Yes, yes it is.



North of Corpus Christi:

There were a few huge crosses along the highways and freeway.  Only in Texas.

Swim Lessons

I am a little behind since we had a little rendezvous to Texas.  Here is the last swim lessons.  Kendra loves swimming so much that she wants to continue throughout the year.

New Friend

While eating dinner one evening Kendra announced, "there's a lizard in our kitchen!"  Sure enough a baby lizard somehow managed to escape the chickens by running into our house.  The girls thought it was super fun and let it go out front so the chickens wouldn't eat him.

Hula Hoop Contest

Last month when Mark was on a business trip the girls had a hula hoop contest.  I recorded it so Mark could watch when he returned but forgot about it until Kendra reminded me.

Lovin Summer

The girls love our chickens.  Thy could spend all day outside with them.

Meet Fluffy.  Our Americana that does not like to be cuddled like the others.  Kendra was very proud to have caught her.

 

We decided to make homemade pizza ...the girls obviously helped.

 

They make sure to leave cheese so they can eat it.

 

Mark grew a beard for a week:

 

 I love this picture because there are times, and usually the most inconvenient, when all of a sudden the girls want to love baby Kylee.

 

Megan at swim lessons last week

 

She is actually doing the alligator crawl!  Yeah!  Her teacher really pushes her and she's doing so much better this time around.

 

Megan is learning how to use her arms with a fun noodle to get across the pool.

Her teacher made her jump in at the deep end and made sure to dunk her when she did so.  Megan wasn't so happy with her teacher that day.  Too bad I didn't get a close up of her annoyed face.
